The other day I went to my granddaughters school for lunch, she is in lower 6th studying catering as one of her subjects. They have a super set up in the kitchen and a small restaurant where you can go for a three course meal Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We had Stilton and mushroom tart to start, which was absolutely delicious the pastry was so light the filling piping hot with the taste of the Stilton coming through but not overpowering. Sorry but forgot to take picture of starter.
Main course was fish combined with salmon on a bed of shredded vegetables and a smooth creamy mashed potatoe.
The vegetarian option was ratatouille layered between pancakes and a selection of fresh vegetables all al-dente. The presentation was magnificent in all dishes and we could not fault the taste of anything.
It really was like attending a very classy restaurant. The children prepare and cook everything themselves, even the service was high class with all the little touches that you get in first class restaurants.
Kara made the desserts and I had the chocolate mousse, I have never tasted anything so smooth, rich and creamy. It was absolutely divine and the cream and brandy snap made the presentation look amazing.
What an amazing way for children to be taught the true experience of cooking and running a restaurant. I found the whole experience amazing and for £12 a bargain so looking forward to returning for lunch again one day.
